Budget 2024, DP deputy: Too little funding for vocational education

The MP and member of the Presidency of the Democratic Party, Andia Ulliri declared yesterday in a statement to the media that the draft budget of 2024 does not offer a solution to the difficult situation of the Albanian youth. “The draft budget of 2024 does not offer a solution to the difficult situation of Albanian youth. The youth is poorly paid and unmotivated. At a time when most young people want to leave this country an hour ago, the government does not even make the minimum effort, funding youth policies poorly and poorly. Millions of euros will be spent on reception, escort, offices or accommodation of the governors, but no concern for the young people who are leaving Albania. The budget for vocational education does not respond to the demands of the labor market. Entrepreneurs and Albanian and foreign chambers of commerce have been complaining for years about the lack of qualified personnel in both service and production activities. These needs of the labor market are not reflected in the policies of the government and the budget of 2024, dramatically restraining the investments that enable the increase of wages. Very little money for professional education and no priority at all for schools that suffer more and more from the lack of pupils and students every day. There are dozens of professions that are disappearing that do not find funding in professional education, but only words and propaganda. In addition to the fact that there is no national strategy for the development of young people, the 2024 budget leaves young men and women completely out of the spotlight, thus giving you a great incentive to abandon Albania once and for all”, stated Ulliri.
