Leading global manufacturers of robots will unveil their latest technologies at the upcoming “Smart Factory Automation World” event in Seoul.

The Smart Factory Automation World (SFAW), an esteemed annual tech event, is set to take place in Seoul from March 27 to March 29, attracting 450 companies from nine nations. Held at the COEX Convention & Exhibition Center in Seoul’s vibrant Gangnam District, renowned for its fashion and finance scene, the event will feature cutting-edge robots and innovative factory automation solutions.

SFAW stands as one of South Korea’s premier business-to-business (B2B) exhibitions, focusing on digital transformation and factory automation technologies. Anticipating over 70,000 attendees, this year’s event aims to surpass the 51,894 visitors recorded in 2023.

Among the participants are promising South Korean tech firms showcasing groundbreaking products. Aidin Robotics will unveil PanoRadar, a safety radar sensor adept at detecting obstacles within a range of 9 meters (29.5 feet), enhancing operational safety when integrated with collaborative robots.

Epson Korea will demonstrate the GX8-A552C robot, renowned for its swift and accurate object picking and sorting capabilities utilizing conveyor tracking technology. This allows seamless operations without interrupting the flow of objects on the conveyor belt. Additionally, notable domestic exhibitors such as Rainbow Robotics, LG CNS, and CJ OliveNetworks will showcase their latest innovations.

The event will feature conferences and networking opportunities for entrepreneurs, attracting global players like Siemens from Germany and Mitsubishi Electric from Japan.

In July 2023, South Korea’s industry ministry announced a 28.8 billion won ($22.5 million) initiative to establish six ‘digitally collaborative’ factories by 2025. With 29 companies participating in this digital transformation project, aimed at enhancing work efficiency and reducing costs, SFAW serves as a platform to explore the future of manufacturing.
